I found this interesting (and somewhat morbid) website. This website has you enter all types of information – your birthday, your body mass index, your sex, your smoking status, and whether you are normal/optimistic/sadistic/pessimistic – and then tells you the day you will die. The website says, “Welcome to the Death Clock(TM), the Internet’s friendly reminder that life is slipping away…second by second. Like the hourglass of the Net, the Death Clock will remind you just how short life is.”
According to deathclock.com, my personal day of death is Thursday, April 1, 2055. Mark it down. At the time I write this, I have just under 1,456,928,000 seconds left on this earth. That will put me at almost 74 years old.
If I can somehow become more of a optimist, I will live an additional 22 years until Monday, May 10, 2077, putting me at a few days shy of reaching my 96th birthday. If only I could see the glass half full…

This website brings up a good question: in the perfect world where everything went your way, would you rather know exactly when you were going to die or would you rather not know?
Of one point I am very sure; as a hindu Indian I believe in the science of astrology. This is a very very old and sacred science where it is possible to predict the age when you will die; apart from this only God knows when you die.
A well studied astrologer can predict within minutes your age.

Abha, thanks for the comment. I am not very familiar with astrology. I am curious to see how exactly they predict when someone will die. I am sure that it is more comprehensive then asking about smoking habits, birthday, life outlook, and body mass index like this website. I have to imagine there are many more factors to be looked at.
As a Christian, I surrender to the fact that God is in control. The very nature of following Jesus is pretty intense – to truly live one must die to self. Deathclock.com forgot to mention that…
Thanks for reading…
i’d rather not know
i’ll stick with leaving it up to God to decide when he wants to bring me home
I agree with you Victoria(:
that’s creepy. but i would rather not know. i think that if God wanted us to know when we would die he would have made it to where we would all know the exact day, without going to a website.
Brian, thanks for your response.
You seem to be a person very deep in your faith about God which is really good as maximum people today have forgotton ‘where’ to put their faith.
And yes to experience the correct meaning to our life requires us to move very deep in ourselves and only when you die to the outer personality which is the body and mind can you be able to touch the real you. Then the life you have lead till today develops a very new meaning and at times pushes you to take on a new or additional name. This is when you die to the ‘outer you’ of this birth and open your self to your eternal identity since lifetimes!
