genius-bar

My iPhone broke last week. While turning my phone on vibrate before a meeting, the gear that controls the vibrate feature malfunctioned. I did not drop the phone nor did I throw the phone against a wall; that feature just stopped working.

In the past I have had some majorĀ inconveniencesĀ and financial strains when cell phones have broken. Nervous that I was about to take a significant financial hit 10 days away from Christmas, I dialed the 1-800 Apple customer service number. The customer service representative suggested that I take my phone to the “Genius Bar” at an area Apple Store. He found the closest Apple Store for me and set up an appointment for me with one of their techs.

I made the trek to Dallas to the closest Apple Store. On a Thursday afternoon, the store was absolutely slammed full of people. I had a feeling deep in my gut that this venture was going to take all day. However, my consumer pessimism was wrong. Within minutes my name was called and I got to speak to one of the techs about my iPhone problem.
