Here are some random thoughts on this Monday morning…
I am pretty excited that the Rays beat the Red Sox last night to go to the World Series. I could not have handled any “dynasty” talk regarding the Red Sox. There has got to be some spiritual principle in the fact that the first year the Rays dropped the “Devil” from their name, they make it all the way to the World Series.

The Tennessee Titans won again yesterday. They are now 6-0.

The Dallas Cowboys lost again yesterday. Living in East Texas, I have got to admit, I watched the results of this game with a smile on my face. They are now 4-3.

I went camping this weekend with a bunch of Jr High students. I learned that I can build a mean fire solely from paying attention and applying the basic principles I learned from watching Man vs Wild. I had fun but the weekend validated that I really like to sleep on beds.

I won a game of “Chubby Bunny” with a total of 12 massive marshmallows jammed in my cheeks.

This past week, three of SOC teens gave their lives to Christ and were baptized. Congratulations to Bailey Burgin, Brett Owsley, and Emalee McMillan!

First item to go on my Christmas wish-list: the book “Beyond Belief“, which is an autobiography of Josh Hamilton.

Had a great small group with our 11th graders last night where we talked about conflict management. Heather and Jeff Byrum did an amazing job teaching the material.

This may show my political ignorance, but I was extremely surprised to hear that Colin Powell gave his Presidential endorsement to Barak Obama. I imagine that could be a pretty big deal.

I watched the keynote address from Apple Special Event October 2008 on the new Macs that are about to be released. I was pretty pumped to see the new changes to the Mac. The coolest change is the glass track pad with no mouse button. Yes, it was 50 minutes and yes, I did enjoy watching every minute. I know I just sounded geeky, but it was sweet to watch.

Got any reactions to my random Monday morning thoughts? Do you have any yourself?
In my days of watching Man vs. Wild I don’t ever remember seeing a propane burner/firestater anywhere close to the campfire…….. I’m just saying……….
Timbo – true, true…you weren’t supposed to see that. Bear does have tools though (flint). He’s not just rubbing sticks together. I did apply principles I learned from him though. But seriously for me, that was major bonus points on my “man card”.
You looked very manly though. You smelled like smoke and the fire was quite large. Very Manly. I am sure the propane torch was a safety function in case of a brushfire you could set up a back burn to help extinguish it.
What about the Vols? They get a rare win and you don’t give them any love? You should be ashamed of yourself.
Scotty, true, the Vols got the “W”, but they beat a crappy Mississippi St team to improve to a mediocre 3-4 (1-3 in the SEC). I am happy for UT, but not as happy as seeing the Titans go 6-0.
I might have to stop reading your blog b/c of your cowboys animosity. Stick to hating the Sox and loving some Bear and we will be cool.
Too much testosterone in here! B, I wish I could admit certain things about the cowboys myself, but my lifegroup threatened me!!! Oh hey, Tim, howz it going?
GO TITANS!!!! Go, Rays–and David Price for his amazing pitching as the closer–VANDERBILT grad & last year’s NUMBER ONE PICK–GO VANDY!!! I, too, was so surprised about Colin Powell’s decision–sounds like a conspiracy to me–hhmm. Poor Pac Man–NOT!!! Congrats to your newest teen Christians–that’s awesome!!! I bet you were a cute Chubby Bunny–you sure were when you were small. But I’m prejudiced–I’m your mom. Love ya.
Ahhhh I bet you did make a cute little chubby bunny. Do you notice that most of your comments come from the most random posts? Is that sad or can we all just relate. Does Heather have a Brian Chubby Bunny pic? Come on Heather………..
Yes, the randomness is attractive to many people (I guess)…
and yes, there are pictures from “C.B.”
Man! I wish I could have gone on the camping thingy.. I sure do miss ya’ll ):
