as a musician,
myspace is a much more viable medium for networking,
promoting your music, acquiring fanbase, etc.
facebook has an alliance with ilike, a site that allows
musicians to network with the fans, but it's not quite the same.

myspace gives you the freedom to be
as creepy as you feel necessary, which i enjoy being
afforded that right to choose.
(not to discount facebook's creeper attempts,
by sending me a notification for practically
everytime a friend goes to the bathroom.)

at the heart of the issue, both give an individual
the right to express themselves in a manner as
authentic, genuine, or original as they see fit.
they both have pictures, entertainment interests,
status religiously and relationally, plus the ability
to comment on someone else's profile. the more time
and higher amount of competition between the sites is causing
them to look strikingly similar to me.

so, i'll have my cake and eat it too.

I prefer facebook. There isn't any immaturity that goes on, and the friends I have that have both use it more often. My favorate feature of both is finding so many old friends from high schools and even junior high.

BC, you know i am a three-plus year user of myspace and just a one month user of facebook, but i have to disagree with you on one point. i've observed that there is actually more privacy on myspace. on facebook anytime you do anything your friends are notified. i know everytime anybody breaks up with anybody or they add somebody else or the pictures they comment on. myspace basically tells you if somebody adds a new song or they update something on their profile.
however, i like both. facebook is growing on me, but myspace will always have my heart. :)
