Yesterday was the Opening Ceremonies for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. It was the official start of the Olympics.
I was watching Rome Is Burning, hosted by Jim Rome, yesterday (a show I normally cannot stand to watch). He boldly spoke for Americans by saying that we do not care about the Olympics anymore. He stated the Olympic games are not a big deal anymore like in the past and that nobody will actually watch the Olympics this year. He said that besides the USA men’s basketball team and Michael Phelps, nobody will actually care. Rome stated that caring about the Olympics is a thing of the past.
