As a youth minister, dating is one of those topics that are talked about quite a bit. All the dating books out there, like I Kissed Dating Goodbye, Boundaries in Dating, and Boy Meets Girl, have some great, practical advice for dating that honors God.
However, some of my best dating advice has come from one of my best friends, Scott Pittman. Here are two of Scott’s greatest dating quotes: (By the way, this is where you need to get out paper and a pen and write down these golden nuggets of dating advice.)
“STAY VERTICAL.”
“KIDS IN THE BACK SEAT CAUSE ACCIDENTS. ACCIDENTS IN THE BACK SEAT CAUSE KIDS.”
Chew on those for a while…
Do you have any good dating quotes?

First, be the type of person you want to date, then you’ll attract that type of person.
Second, bring an umbrella if you date a girl whose nose is upside down.
good one Heather…
I LOVE this quote – A woman’s heart should be so lost in God that a man needs to seek Him in order to find her.
The first two books you quote have different opinions and approaches. I am glad you said you enjoyed both. My thought on Harris’s book is that it is more applicable to teenagers. Harris also doesn’t share the defects of his approach but has no problem pointing out all the defects with dating that he sees.
I have a blog on the “kissed dating goodbye book.” You might enjoy reading that.

I Kissed Dating Goodbye: Wisdom or Foolishness
Let’s just be honest if your grandma was sitting right next to you two would she be dissapointed with what you were doing.
This one is for inappropriate dancing:
If you were to dance like you were dancing with no clothes on, would your virginity be in question? If you have to actually think about that, your dancing is probably inappropriate.
Wow Brian, nice one…
never thought of that.
and thank you for putting a horrible picture in my mind next time i see some “inappropriate dancing” going on.
you never let me down BC.
No mushy quotes from me- Scotty’s words of wisdom helped me through LU without coming close to making mini-hobos. Amen to that!
I will never forget when scottie made the “accidents in the back seat…” comment when we were at otter creek. Priceless, simply priceless!
I agree with Heather said at the beginning. A note to girls: If you, as a godly young woman, dress seductively in order to attract boys/men, the boys you attract will probably not be the type of boy you want to marry.
