Welcome Home, Ben & Lisa!

Posted: June 5, 2008 in Faith, Friends, Life, Ministry, People

Yesterday was a big day. Ben and Lisa Vos moved into town. See my post entitled “Treading Water” to understand why that was such a big deal to me. Ben will be starting this Sunday as my partner in crime as another full-time youth pastor at the Shannon Oaks Church.

Ben and Lisa, I cannot wait to become better friends with you, to live life with you, to do ministry with you, to develop inside jokes with you,  and to dream with you. There is no doubt in my mind that God has his fingerprints all over the way that you guys have gotten here. Always know that you have Heather and my full support and that we are here if you need us. I commit to not only support you, but to lift you up in prayer daily. I cannot be more excited to have you guys here. I know that you both are going to make a huge difference in this community, in this church, and in my life. I love you guys.

Now, it’s your turn. Whether you live in Sulphur Springs or not, whether you are involved in the Shannon Oaks Church or not, whether you have a teenager in the Shannon Oaks Church Student Ministries or not, I ask that you write them a note of encouragement on here. I want to stockpile a huge chunk of encouraging notes from this blog to show them later. Overwhelm them with love (even if you do not know them). Imagine a recent college graduate who just got married less than two weeks ago and who just moved half way across the country into their first house to start their first full-time ministry position. That is something to encourage. Bless their marriage, their ministry, their new life, their new home, etc. If anything, wish him luck on simply working with me everyday (he needs it, right?).

Click the link “comments’ right below this post and write your note to Ben and Lisa. Thanks!

  10. Can I ask though – how did you get this picked up and into google news?

Very impressive that this blog is syndicated through Google and is it something that is just up to Google or you actively created?

Obviously this is a popular blog with great data so well done on your seo success..

Soccer / Football greats you should write about next!
