HERE'S AN UPDATE ON HARLAN THAT I READ ON YANKEES.COM...

Right-handed reliever Joba Chamberlain, who remains on the bereavement list while tending to his ailing father in his hometown of Lincoln, Neb., delivered some encouraging news to the Yankees on Friday. Harlan Chamberlain, 55, has been removed from a ventilator, is breathing on his own and his condition continues to improve, the pitcher said Friday in a team-issued statement.

"After several difficult days, my father is feeling much better," Joba Chamberlain said. "He is still in the critical care unit of the hospital and more tests await him, but he is off the ventilator and breathing on his own. Each day he's acting more and more like himself, and he's even giving people grief -- myself included -- because the hospital doesn't carry Yankees games on television."

KEEP PRAYING.

And the Yanks are saying they are going to pull him out of that 8th inning role and make him a starter...I'm not sure about that.

It is an incredible story. I want to be a dad like that someday.

Very touching story. I love that picture.

well, this may seem insensitive, but also we need Harlan to get better, so the Yankees don't loose every game in the 7th or 8th inning. Last night was ridiculous.
